Joomla VirtueMart has a bug where if the If flypage.tpl was not selected for the online store's Site/Flypage, all the products are not shown when user clicks on the product for details page. This could be very tricky if you accidentally changed the store settings and all of a sudden all your products are gone! Here is the link where people have been frustrated about this issue: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=471&t=346375 . The email thread did not have a conclusion of what was the solution. I've found the solution by making sure the flypage is the flypage.tpl. Then the products start to show up as usual.
